Arranging Units and Squads
Units are individual vehicles that can act independently or work together as a squad. They are your fighting machines, necessary to destroy the enemy and acquire technology upgrades, power stations, and key sectors. Group or rearrange any set of units by using the map or Squadron Manager to create a new squad or to reorganize the ones you have.
Particular vehicle classes are best used for particular actions. For example, tanks fire stronger artillery but are slower than aircraft. Use tanks to protect your Host Station, and use aircraft to explore the terrain.
Arrange squads by vehicle class for efficient movement, or mix and match vehicle classes for a stronger offensive power. For example, tanks are slow but extremely sturdy and powerful. Send them short distances to combat heavy artillery. Send airplanes long distances because they will quickly arrive at a destination. Or mix helicopters with tanks to form a squad that moves at a similar speed and provides both ground and air support.
To optimize a squad's performance, set its aggressiveness to a level that will enable it to best achieve its objective. For example, if you send a squad on a search mission for power stations, set the aggressiveness level to 4 and it will conquer sectors on its way to its destination, thereby peeling back the fog of war. If you need a squad to return to the Host Station quickly, set its aggressiveness level to 1.
